The Minister of Business, Jordi Baiget, inaugurated this morning the new factory of the Catalan automotive company AMES in China. Located in the Wuhu region, near Shanghai, it is a production plant for sintered structural parts that is already operational. The plant currently covers an area of 3,400 square meters and employs 24 workers. The company plans to expand the factory twice, once in 2019 and again two years later, eventually reaching 14,500 square meters and to employ 250 people. The total investment for building the plant is around 14 million euros, and it is estimated that after the two expansions, annual revenues could exceed 26 million euros. During the opening process, AMES has received support from the Generalitat through ACCIÓN via the Foreign Trade and Investment Office in Beijing.
